It was an exceptionally busy couple of weeks for Projet Communautaire de Pierrefonds (PCP) heading into the holiday break.
On December 11th, we had our very first virtual Annual General Meeting (AGM) - which focused on activities occurring during the 2019-2020 fiscal year. A summary of these activities may be found in our latest Annual Report. A draw was also held during the AGM, and one of our longtime members, Jennifer Schultz, was the lucky recipient of a $100 IGA gift card. Congratulations Jennifer!
Later that evening, PCP held its inaugural outdoor "Christmas Drive-Thru" for our valued members. This event was organized in lieu of PCP's traditional Christmas community party, which clearly could not take place due to the pandemic. Happily, the weather was relatively mild and there was a festive atmosphere.
Thanks to the generosity of wrapped gifts donated by Pfizer, we gave 52 vulnerable kids and their families the chance to meet Santa and share lots of excited smiles. We also handed out special gifts to families in need, thanks to the Montreal Gazette Christmas Fund.
Thank you again to all staff and volunteers who helped out, and thank you to Pfizer and the Montreal Gazette Christmas Fund for their ongoing support!
Finally, our Pre-School and Motiv-Action programs had their end-of-term pizza parties with music, handmade ornaments, goodie bags and donated gifts.
The Pre-School kids even learned a couple of dance numbers, courtesy of Afnan and Kellie. Check out one here:
Overall, it was a fun, relaxed and gratifying way to end 2020, after a highly organized and somewhat stressful past few months. Although the kids learned and socialized a lot because of our well-planned curriculum and activities, a big shout out must be given to all our dedicated staff and wonderful volunteers who worked so hard to ensure safety protocols were enforced and that everyone was kept as safe as possible. Thank you!!!
From all of us at PCP, we wish you a restful and safe holiday season. Happy Holidays and see you in 2021!!!!
